ACSI Community Code of Conduct Rules, Etiquette, and Privacy Guidelines

Thank you for being part of our community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using the ACSI Community, you acknowledge that you have read and will follow the following rules and guidelines. This is a great way to solicit your peers' advice, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Any questions should be directed to our Care Team via email at careteam@acsi.org or by completing the "Contact us" form.

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. To preserve an environment that encourages civil and fruitful dialogue, ACSI reserves the right to reject any post and to suspend or terminate membership in this community for anyone who violates these rules.

The Rules

  • All discussion posts, replies, and document files will automatically undergo ACSI staff review and moderation. This may delay approval and content visibility by up to 3 business days or longer.*
  • Respect the purpose of the ACSI Community, which is to connect Christian educators and staff in a protected virtual environment.
  • Please use the community to share successes, challenges, requests, goals, and to offer constructive feedback, rather than to promote the products or services you provide.
  • ACSI will reject discussion post content that is self-promotional.
    • If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group respectfully as a testimonial rather than a product sale. Your positive or negative perspective is valuable to this community of educators!
    • Don't post commercial messages on any discussion list, resource library entry, or other area. ACSI will reject this type of content. This includes any non-ACSI-sponsored events and job postings
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited.
  • Respect intellectual property. Please properly attribute to the creator.
  • For research and survey requests, the ACSI Research department requires that all surveys get approved through their team before we publish them to ACSI Members. Please fill out the research application form. You can also reach them via email at research@acsi.org.
  • All messages must add to the body of knowledge. ACSI reserves the right to reject any message.

Discussion Group Etiquette

  • Respect others.
  • Focus on the content of posts rather than the people who make them.
  • Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate community groups. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response.
  • Please give members the benefit of the doubt; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
  • Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • State concisely the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search by subject.
  • Please send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" directly to individuals, not to the entire list. Use the "Reply to Sender" link in every message.
  • When including external links in posts, ACSI moderation may flag more than five links as spam and subsequently reject the post.
  • Adjust the frequency and amount of email communications received from the ACSI Community in your Profile>My Account>Community Notifications area in Your Profile. If you need assistance, please contact the Community Manager. Other helpful tips for optimizing the use of the ACSI Community, including setting up and using the new mobile app, can be found in the Help > Community Training documents.
  • If you change your email address, please update your account settings. If you need assistance updating your email, please contact the Care Team.
  • For items your school would like to sell, please join the Marketplace group and post them there, along with prices and descriptions.
  • If you are looking for new candidates or a new school, please explore the ACSI Career Center, where members can post open positions, seek new positions, and more.
  • If you need other assistance, please look at the Help/FAQ or Community Training under "Help" on the main page. Any questions should be directed to our Care Team via email at careteam@acsi.org or by completing the "Contact us" form.
